Java Momma Review Summary
Annual Revenue: <$1 Million
Hate sales and recruits? I earn a full-time income online without doing either. Check out my #1 home-based business opportunity.
What Is Java Momma?
Java Momma is an mlm company that established to deliver organic coffee and tea to people doorstep.
The founders claimed that Java Momma was founded to “to serve the needs of fellow direct sellers”.
However, it’s not clear what are the needs that Java Momma provides to fellow direct sellers, except the opportunity to make money selling Java Momma coffees and teas.
Java Momma was launched by Melissa and Brian Shoop on September 2017 from their home in Danville, PA.
Java Momma distributes and sells its products through an mlm network which they call “Barista” operating throughout the US.
The company estimated sales revenue is $600,000 Million.
Java Momma doesn’t publish the income disclosure statement. This financial document provides crucial information regarding the profits and losses of operating a Java Momma mlm business.
From my review experiences, any mlm company that doesn’t release the income disclosure statement is a Red flag, especially with startup mlm.
Maybe, Java Momma hides the fact that distributors are not making money.
At the time of writing this review, Java Momma is 2 years old mlm company. This business opportunity is considered a high-risk investment.
You must carefully consider and compare Java Momma business with other home-based business opportunities before joining as a Barista.
You can use My #1 Business Opportunity to make a comparison.
How To Join Java Momma?
You will need a sponsor to join Java Momma.
It is fairly easy to search for Java Momma distributors online, then registered through their website.
You can also contact Java Momma through the website and request for a local distributor.
Your sponsor can help you launch your own Java Momma distributing business.
All new Java Momma distributors are required to purchase one of the three Barista Kits at the time of enrollment.
However, purchasing the barista starter kit doesn’t mean you will earn commissions.
To build a successful business and make money with Java Momma, you must become active and qualified.
Active and qualified require distributors to purchase products and meet the sales quota, which I’ll discuss in the next section of this Java Momma review.
The Cost To Join Java Momma
The cost to join Java Momma is $20, $35 or $65 depending on the Barista Kit choose.
Below is what you get from each kit.
Besides the initial investments, there are expenses to stay in business.
Java Momma requires distributors to maintain an active and qualified status.
To remain active, all distributors are required to place an order of $50 every 3 months.
To qualify for downline commissions, you must achieve the rank of Java Gourmet, which requires a $50 PV (Personal Volume) and $500 in team sales volume each month.
As you can see, the cost to join Java Momma is not $20. You must purchase products to maintain an active and qualified status.
You should pay attention to the monthly Active and Qualified Expenses.
Java Momma is a Pay and Play business opportunity. If you want to earn, you have to pay.
Any distributor that fails to maintain an active and qualified status is not allowed to receive the bonuses and commissions from Java Momma or even terminated.
The expenses above do not include your time, the marketing costs, travel expenses, and gas.
The active and qualified expenses can destroy your business profit if you cannot resell the products. They become business losses.
Other home-based businesses, such as Affiliate Marketing, you earn the commission on every sale, no need to be active and qualified.
Why Java Momma has active and qualified requirements?
Because they need to sell products and to avoid being classified as a pyramid scheme under the FTC guideline. (Check our discussion on the FTC MLM Guideline for more information.)
Java Momma Compensation Plan
The Java Momma compensation plan is a document that outlines the options for you to make money with Java Momma.
I’ll provide a quick analysis of the Java Momma compensation plan. To see it in detail, just download a copy.
As an mlm opportunity, Java Momma provides you two options to earn: selling products and/or building a team.
Make Money Selling Java Momma Coffee
Java Momma distributors can either purchase products at a discount price to resell, or they can direct customers to purchase from their own Java Momma replicated website to earn a retail commission.
You earn a 20% commission for retail sales and a 10% commission for subscription sales.
But the question is, can you sell Java Momma products on the market?
A one-pound bag of Java Momma coffee bag retails price $15.99. This price is very competitive with other coffee brands.
I did a search online and find a 1lb Dunkin Donut coffee bag cost about the same price as Java Momma coffee.
I must say that you can sell Java Momma coffee on the market. But, will people buy from this less popular coffee brand?
Make Money Recruiting Distributors
The other option to make money with Java Momma is recruiting others into your team.
As long as you are active and qualified, here are your options to earn.
Java Momma offers three leadership bonuses that you can earn from the team sales volume.
The bonus is ranging from 1% to 5% and up to 3 levels.
Below is the bonus schedule.
However, you must meet the Personal PV and Team Volume to receive the leadership bonus.
For example, you receive a 5% leadership bonus on level 1, you must achieve $50 in personal PV and $500 in team volume. These sales quotas increase as you move up the level.
As you can see, there are multiple ways to earn with Java Momma. But to get paid, you must purchase products to meet the personal PV requirements.
This is how mlm works. Ways to earn is not the same as qualifying to receive the money.
You can potentially earn nothing with Java Momma because the costs to be active and qualified might exceed the commissions received.
Can You Make Money With Java Momma?
Since the Java Momma compensation plan only provides you the options to earn. It doesn’t tell you the distributors’ real income.
To know the actual income, you need to look at the Java Momma income disclosure statement (IDS). This financial document provides ACTUAL INCOMES
that distributors received from Java Momma.
But, where can you get a copy of the IDS?
You can request one at the time of enrollment. The law requires Java Momma to provide you a copy together with the compensation plan.
As a business review writer, I look to the actual incomes to advise clients on an investment.
If Java Momma refuses to provide you a copy of the income disclosure statement, don’t join. This is a sign of a scam.
But you don’t need a copy of the IDS to know that 99% of mlm businesses failed.
Because mlm compensation plans are not designed for you to make money. They are designed for the mlm company to sell products.
Just go back and review the compensation plan discussion above, why you think the ways to earn is not the same as qualifications to receive the commissions?
Is Java Momma A Scam?
Yes, Java Momma is not created for you to make money. But this doesn’t make Java Momma a scam.
Java Momma is a business opportunity. Every business has risks.
You are responsible to carefully research, study, and investigate the Java Momma business opportunity before investing.
Reading this Java Momma Review is a good way to learn the risks and rewards associated with this business opportunity.
Many entrepreneurs hire professional financial analysts to evaluate a business profit and loss before investing.
As the owner of an Online Business Review, I have evaluated hundreds of mlm businesses to help investors identified and managed the risks.
Java Momma is not a scam. It is a risky and unprofitable business opportunity. You can potentially lose all your investment.
Is Java Momma A Pyramid Scheme?
Mlm companies are legit if they follow the FTC guideline.
Java Momma might be legit under the law, but I don’t make investment decisions based on the law.
I look at the compensation plan and distributors’ income to determine if an mlm a pyramid scheme.
I say Java Momma is a pyramid scheme.
If you look at the Java Momma compensation, distributors are forced to purchase overpriced products to earn the commission.
Recruiting is the best option to make money, not selling products.
The more people that you recruit, the more money you make.
Distributors become the primary drinkers of Java Momma coffee.
Doesn’t this smell like a pyramid scheme?
Well, you don’t have to agree with me.
But you can’t deny that Java Momma is not designed for you to achieve the dream of financial freedom.
It is not easy to make money as a Java Momma distributor, and the Java Momma compensation plan was designed to turn distributors into customers, not business owners.
Is Java Momma Worth It?
If you drink Java Momma coffee, then joining Java Momma is worth it. You get the 20% discount.
But if you are looking for a profitable opportunity to make money from home, then Java Momma is not worth it.
However, the decision to become a Java Momma distributor is yours to make.
Let me ask you this,
Do you know why you want to start a home-based business?
To earn extra money from home, to be your own boss, or to achieve financial freedom?
And to make money, we invest in a PROFITABLE business!
As an affiliate marketer, there’s NO traveling around town to attend late-night meetings and NO face-to-face sales or recruits.
The best part, you are working on the computer in your own home or anywhere you like.
Affiliate marketing is one of the most powerful work from home business opportunity to earn passive income. I recommend you read, MLM vs. Affiliate Marketing to learn.
One thing that Java Momma rarely discloses to distributors is “Business Control”.
As a Java Momma distributor, you have to obey Java Momma rules and policies to stay in business.
You have no control over what products to sell or how to promote your business.
What happens if Java Momma goes out of business?
You are out of business!
You lose everything and nothing you can do about it. You have zero control over the business.
You start a business to build long-term incomes. You want to create a system that generates money far into the future. Isn’t this the #1 reason you want to build a successful business?
If you want to be an owner of a lucrative and profitable business that generates six-figure passive income, then…
You should read my #1 recommended online business opportunity.
Can you write?
If your answer is “YES”, then why not use this skill to start your own highly lucrative online writing business, TODAY!
So, would I invest if Java Momma is not a scam?
I start a business to make money, not to drink more coffee.
I don’t think you are going to get rich selling Java Momma.
This is not a good opportunity.
There are much better home-based business opportunities compared to Java Momma.
But the investment decision is yours to make.
Thank you for reading this Java Momma discussion. I hope the review answers your questions.
Until next time.
