What Is Global Travel International?
Global Travel International considers itself the 54th largest travel agency in the United State.
The company markets and sells a wide range of travel services through a network of independent travel agents worldwide.
The company opened its operation in 1994 with headquarters in Maitland, Florida crediting Michael Gross and Randy Warren as the pioneers of the company home-based travel opportunity.
At the time of this Global Travel International review, the company claims its annual sales revenue top at $125 million. However, I could not find any financial information to support this.
Global Travel International claims to provide the best tools, training, support, and products for you to build a top-notch home-based travel agency and earn high commissions. However, I am unable to confirm this claim.
Research of the company online reveals a pattern of not paying commissions to the agents. You certainly don’t want to do all the hard works and not get paid.
I strongly recommend that you carefully evaluate and compare Global Travel International with other home-based business opportunities before joining.

How To Join Global Travel International?
You don’t need a sponsor to join the Global Travel International business opportunity.
You can visit the company website to sign up as a member. Currently, GTI has a 14 days $1 membership trial.
However, below is the Better Business Bureau warning consumers regarding GTI 14 day trial membership scam.
The trial membership promotion is to get you to register. The actual cost to become a GTI independent travel agent is much more.
How Much Does It Cost to Join Global Travel International?
The cost to join Global International Travel depends on the membership plan that you decide to purchase.
- $1 gives you 14 days membership. After the trial period, the membership fee is $24.95 per month.
- $199 per year offers you the Silver Membership Plan.
- $299 per year is the cost to join as a Gold Member.
- $399 per year is the cost for Platinum Membership.
The $399 plan gives you the most benefits and commissions as a GTI travel agent.
The membership cost is renewed annually. This is automatically charged to your credit card.
Besides the membership investment, there are other business expenses to get your business up and running. These might include your times, marketing materials, gas and more as you are promoting your Global Travel International travel agency.
One thing that I hate about the GTI business opportunity is the membership fees. I call this ‘Pay to Play.’ You have to pay GTI for an opportunity to make money.
You can just become an Affiliate Marketer and make money promoting travel products without having to pay an annual membership fee.
Global Travel International Compensation Review
You have two ways to make money as a GTI agent.
- You earn a commission on every travel product that you have sold.
- You earn a referral bonus by recruiting others to join GTI.
Make Money Booking Reservations
Global Travel International states that you can earn between 5% to 9% commission on hotels, car rentals, cruises, and vacation packages reserved through Global Travel International.
If you are thinking for every $1,000 vacation package sold, you make between $50 to $90. Sorry, you are wrong. This is not how GTI calculates the commission.
The 5% to 9% commission is calculated using the based commission, which is the 5% to 10% commission that GTI receives from travel companies.
Let demonstrate how much you make on a $1,000 reservation with a 9% commission:
- GTI receives a base commission of $100 for this reservation. ($1,000 x 10%).
- You earn $9 in commission for this reservation. ($100 x 9%)
So, the actual commission you make with GTI is between 0.5% to 0.9%. You will have to sell a lot of vacation packages to make enough money just for gas money.
Make Money Recruiting Others to Join Global Travel International
Global Travel International offers you a $100 cash bonus when you recruit someone to join and become an independent travel agent.
You can earn a better income by referring people to Global Travel International than by selling travel services.
You only need to bring in one person to make $100. While you have to sell over $11,000 worth of reservations to earn the same amount.
This tells us the best way to make money with Global Travel International is by recruiting others to join the opportunity, not selling products.
This type of compensation plan is considered an illegal pyramid scheme, according to the FTC.
As an illegal pyramid scheme, Global Travel International is a scam.
Can You Make Money with Global Travel International?
Yes, you can make money with Global Travel International. All you do is trick people into joining the program and make $100.
As I have demonstrated above, recruiting is the best way to make money with Global Travel International.
When you are joining Global Travel International, you are not really an independent travel agent. You are actually a recruiter for GTI. Therefore, you don’t need a travel agent license.
I don’t think you can make a lot of money recruiting people to join GTI. It is difficult to know exactly how much a GTI travel agent earns because Global Travel International doesn’t report agents’ income. This should be a Red Flag.
Is Global Travel International a Scam?
Global Travel International is a scam to me.
Here are some reasons:
- This is not a travel agency business opportunity. It is a recruiting business for GTI.
- The best way to make money is by referring people to GTI, not selling travel-related products.
- According to the BBB, GTI uses the gift card marketing scam to lure people into the program.
- The company has a history of not paying its agents’ commissions.
Some might argue that Global Travel International is not a scam. It is a business opportunity, and the risk of starting a business is losing all your investments.
You are responsible for researching, studying, and investigating Global Travel International before joining.
This might be true. But when you read all the online customer reviews of Global Travel International together with the BBB warning, you cannot say this is a legit business opportunity.
Is Global Travel International Worth It?
I would never invest in Global Travel International. I don’t think you can earn a full-time income with Global Travel International. This business opportunity is not worth it.
