Taking surveys is hard work with very little reward. You earn less than $2 per hour is normal.
Here’s the breakdown: A 10-minute survey pays about $0.25. At this pay rate, you make about $1.50 per hour.
Most people join InboxDollars because the works are easy and fun. They just want to make a few bucks for a cup of coffee. If this is your intention, then click here to join InboxDollars to earn your first $5.
How to Get Payment from InboxDollars?
There is no payout for members with an account balance below the $30 minimum requirement.
Any member with an account balance of $30 can request a payout from InboxDollars. InboxDollars will charge a $3 transaction fee for processing the payout.
Members that wait until their account balance reaches $40 to request payment will not have to pay the $3 transaction fee.
To request payment, members can click on ‘My Account’ tab and then selecting ‘Request Payment.’
InboxDollars offers the following payment options: Paper check, ePayments, and Donation.
- Selecting payment as a check is the best option if you want to get cash.
- Selecting ePayment, you will receive either a Merchant eCards or Prepaid Visa.
- You can donate your earnings to a charitable organization of your choice.
Payment to Non-Gold members
Member’s request payment the first time is considered a Non-Gold member.
It takes 10-16 days for these members to receive their payment after requesting a payout.
If you request payment the first time, I suggest you place your payout request by the end of Sunday to have your payment process in 10 days.
Payout to Gold members
The second time you request a payout, you are a Gold member.
Payment is processed the same day for Gold members selecting the ePayment option.
Any gold member accepting a Tango card can cash out for significantly higher merchant amounts.
There is no additional fee for eCards. Prepaid Visa cash cards are processed by Swift.
Payment by check is processed and mailed through the US post office, so they typically take around 2 weeks to arrive.
Important Note: InboxDollars members need to have an active account to request payouts.
Is InboxDollars a Scam?
InboxDollars is not a scam. This a trustworthy company that has payout more than $35 million to its members. It is a real deal.
However, it takes a lot of time and effort to meet the $30 payout requirement. Many people gave up and quit before reaching this level.
If you fail to reach the $30 minimum payout requirement, you will receive nothing from InboxDollars. When this happened, these members felt cheated and considered InboxDollars as a scam.
Complaints Against InboxDollars
The largest number of complaints against InboxDollars is a huge waste of time and the rate of pay is the lowest compared to other sites like Swagbucks.
- InboxDollars members complained that the website serves up too many disqualifications. The whole process of taking the surveys is incredibly frustrating when, after partaking in a survey for more than 10 minutes to find out that you “are not qualified.”
- The penny payment for reading emails is ridiculously low, making paid email does not worth the click.
- Too many extremely long surveys, taking up to 30 minutes or more, only pay 12 cents.
- No credit for activities done on the website.
- Account suspended for being inactive result in losing all earnings.
I understand that you cannot please every customer visiting your business. Even me, I have some things to like and dislike about InboxDollars.

- No partial payments, any inactive account with cash under $30 is forfeited.
Should You Sign Up for InboxDollars?
InboxDollars is good to earn a few extra bucks without a lot of work. This is something you can do while watching TV.
However, I wouldn’t recommend InboxDollars to stay at home moms and dads looking to make passive money to supplement their earnings. Surveys don’t pay much.
