What Is Color Street?

Color Street is a multilevel marketing (mlm) company that manufacture, distributes, and sells nail polish strips. The company offers women an alternative way to get their nails done in minutes.

Color Street was founded by Fa Park in 1984 after watching a woman in a nearby cab did her nails while he was on the bus.

The company manufacture distributes and sells its nail arts exclusively through an mlm network of over 38,540 independent stylists worldwide.

The company estimated sales revenue is $119 Million.

But Color Street doesn’t publish the income disclosure statement (IDS). This financial document provides crucial information regarding the profits and losses of operating a Color Street mlm business.

From my review experiences, an mlm company that doesn’t release the income disclosure statement is a Red flag.

Maybe, Color Street is trying to hide the fact that stylists are not making money.

You must carefully consider and compare Color Street business with other home-based business opportunities before joining.

You can use My #1 Business Opportunity to make a comparison.

Join Color Street

You need a sponsor to join Color Street as a stylist.

It is fairly easy to search for a stylist online, then registered through that website.

You can also visit the company to request a local stylist near you.

However, to build a business and make money with Color Street, you are required to purchase a Starter Kit, which I’ll discuss in the next section of this Color Street review.

How Much Does It Cost To Join Color Street?

The cost to join Color Street is $129 for a Starter Kit.

Color Street review

This starter kit contains everything you need to launch your own Color Street nail polish strips business.

Besides the initial cost for the starter kit, you must be a qualified stylist to earn bonuses and commissions with Color Street.

Color Street requires stylists to generate at least $300 each month to remain as a qualified stylist.

To qualify for downline commissions, you are required to generate $1,000 in team sales volume every month.

As you can see, the cost to join Color Street is not $129. You must purchase products to become qualified for commissions.

You should pay attention to the monthly Qualified Expenses.

Color Street is a Pay and Play business opportunity. If you want to earn, you have to pay.

Any stylist that fails to maintain a qualified status is not allowed to receive the bonuses and commissions from Color Street.

The expenses above do not include your time, the marketing costs, travel expenses, and gas.

The monthly qualified expenses can destroy your business profits if you cannot resell the products. They become business losses.

Other home-based businesses, such as Affiliate Marketing, you earn the commission on every sale, no need to be qualified.

Why Color Street has this qualified requirement?

To force you to buy products and to avoid being classified as a pyramid scheme under the FTC guideline. (Check our discussion on the FTC MLM Guideline for more information.)

Color Street Compensation Plan

The Color Street compensation plan looks simple, but it’s not easy to understand or make money.

One fact you must understand is Color Street adopted a binary compensation plan.

Binary means you have to build two qualified teams, 1 on the right and 1 on the left, to start earnings downline commissions.

Binary compensation is considered the most difficult to make money in the mlm industry. Here you have to build two successful business teams to earn money.

I’ll provide a quick analysis of the Color Street compensation plan. To see it in detail, just download a copy.

As an mlm opportunity, Color Street offers you two options to make money: selling products and/or building teams.

Make Money Selling Color Street Products

You earn retail commissions by purchasing products to resell or by selling directly from the Color Street replicated website.

You can earn a base retail commission of 25% on the personal sales volume.

You earn an additional retail commission between 3% to 10% based on your monthly personal sales volume starting at $600.

Here’s the breakdown of the enhanced retail commission.

Color Street scam commissions

You can potentially earn up to 35% retail commissions.

But the question is, can you sell Color Street products on the market?

As you know, nail polish strips are not something new. It has been around long before Color Street.

I did a quick search and find a set of nail polish strips selling as low as $0.74.

The cheapest Color Street nail polish strip price at $11.00.

Color Street scam products review

It will be a change for you to make money selling Color Street products on the market.

Overpriced is the reason many Stylists have a hard time making money selling products.

Make Money Recruiting Others

As we all know, the best option to make money with an mlm opportunity is recruiting others to join your team, not selling products

However, you must be a qualified stylist to earn downline commissions and bonuses.

Enroller Bonuses

Color Street offers a 3% enroller bonus every time you recruit a qualified stylist up to 2 levels.

But to receive all enroller bonuses, you must be qualified by achieving Team Leader rank with 3 or more qualified recruits and $2,500 monthly team sales volume.

Leadership Level Bonuses

Color Street offers a 3% leadership bonus up to 4 levels.

Again, to get paid the highest level of commissions, you must be qualified Director with at least $7,500 in team sales volume.

There are other leadership bonuses and incentives which require more purchasing of Color Street overpriced products to qualify. You can refer to the compensation plan for more information.

As you can see, there are multiple ways to earn with Color Street. But to get paid, you must purchase products to qualify.

This is how mlm works. Ways to earn is not the same as qualifying to receive the money.

You can potentially earn nothing with Color Street because the costs to be active and qualified might exceed the commissions received.

Can You Make Money With Color Street?

The Color Street compensation plan provides us the options to make money, not the actual take-home income for stylists.

To know the actual income, you need to look at the Color Street income disclosure statement (IDS).

But, where can you get a copy of the IDS?

You can request one at the time of enrollment. The law requires Color Street to provide you a copy together with the compensation plan.

As a business review writer, I look to the actual incomes to advise clients on an investment.

If Color Street refuses to provide you a copy of the income disclosure statement, don’t join. This is a sign of a scam.

But you don’t need a copy of the IDS to know that 99% of mlm businesses failed.

Why?

Because Color Street compensation plan is not designed for you to make money. It’s designed for Color Street to sell products.

Just go back and review the compensation plan discussion above, why you think stylists have to qualify for the commissions?

Is Color Street A Scam?

Yes, Color Street was founded not for you to make money. However, this doesn’t make Color Street a scam.

Color Street is a business opportunity. Every business has risks.

You are responsible to carefully research, study, and investigate the Color Street business opportunity before investing.

Reading this Color Street Review is a good way to learn the risks and rewards associated with this home-based business opportunity.

Many entrepreneurs hire professional financial analysts to evaluate business profits and losses before investing.

As the owner of an Online Business Review, I have evaluated hundreds of mlm businesses to help investors identified and managed the risks.

As a business opportunity, Color Street is not a scam. It is a high-risk and unprofitable business opportunity.

Is Color Street A Pyramid Scheme?

Mlm companies are legit if they follow the FTC guideline.

Color Street might be legit under the law, but I don’t invest based on the laws.

I look at the compensation plan and stylists’ income to determine a pyramid scheme.

I say Color Street is a pyramid scheme.

If you look at the Color Street compensation plan, stylists are forced to purchase overpriced products to earn the commission.

Recruiting is the best option to make money, not selling products.

The more people you recruit, the more money you make.

Every stylist is a customer of Color Street by force, purchasing products to qualify for bonuses and commissions.

Doesn’t this make Color Street a pyramid scheme?

Well, you don’t have to agree with me.

But you can’t deny that Color Street is not designed for you to achieve your dream of financial freedom.

It is not easy to make money as a Color Street stylist because the compensation plan was designed to turn you into customers, not business owners.

Is Color Street Worth It?

If you use or love Color Street nail art designs, then joining Color Street is worth it.

But if you are looking for a profitable home-based business opportunity, then Color Street is not worth it.

However, the decision to join Color Street is yours to make.

Let’s ask yourselves this?

Do you know why you want to start a home-based business?

To earn extra money from home, to be your own boss, or to achieve financial freedom?

And to make money, we invest in a PROFITABLE business!

There are much better and less risky home-based business opportunities.

There’s NO traveling around town to attend late-night meetings and NO face-to-face sales or recruits with my online business.

The best part, you are working on the computer in your own home or anywhere you like.

One thing that Color Street rarely discusses with stylists is “Business Control”.

As a Color Street stylist, you must obey Color Street rules and policies to stay in business.

You have no control over what products to sell or how to promote your business.

What happens if Color Street goes out of business?

You are out of business!

You lose everything and nothing you can do about it. You have zero control over the business.

You start a business to build long-term incomes.

You want to create a system that generates money far into the future. Isn’t this the #1 reason you want to build a successful business?

Would I join if Color Street is not a scam?

Look, I start a business to make money, not to buy products.

Based on Color Street refusal to release the income disclosure statement, this should be a strong reason not to start a business with Color Street.

Why do you want to do business with a company that’s not willing to tell you the truth?

I don’t think you are going to get rich selling Color Street.

There are much better home-based business opportunities compared to Color Street.

But this is your call.

Until next time.
