Pink Zebra Review Executive Summary

Both do not require face-to-face recruiting and/or a monthly sales quota.
What Is Pink Zebra?
Pink Zebra is a multilevel marketing (mlm) company that allows you and your customers to customize your own fragrance candles, reed diffusers, and flame-free warmers and simmer pots.
Pink Zebra was founded by Tom and Kelly Gaines in 2010. The Gaines has been manufactured candles since 1999 for large retail companies such as Pier 1, Bath & Body Works, Better Homes and Gardens, and Mainstays.
However, after experiencing price cuts and low-profit margins, the Gaines decided to find an alternative market to replace retail chains. They turned to direct sell, the mlm business model.
The company manufacture, distributes and sells its products exclusively through an mlm network of independent consultants worldwide.
The company estimated sales revenue is $35 Million.
One big concern is that Pink Zebra doesn’t publish the income disclosure statement (IDS). This financial document provides crucial information regarding the profits and losses of operating a Pink Zebra mlm business.
From my review experiences, an mlm company that doesn’t release the income disclosure statement is a Red flag.
Maybe, Pink Zebra is trying to hide the fact that consultants are not making money.
You must carefully consider and compare Pink Zebra business with other home-based business opportunities before joining.
You can use The Best MLM Opportunity to make a comparison.
How To Become A Pink Zebra Consultant?
You are required to have a sponsor to become a Pink Zebra consultant.
Your consultant is your upline and the leader of your team.
It is fairly easy to search for a consultant online, then registered through that website.
You can also visit the company to request a local consultant near you.
However, to build a business and make money with Pink Zebra, you must purchase a Starter Kit, remain active, and become a qualified consultant, which I’ll discuss in the next section of this Pink Zebra review.
How Much Does It Cost To Join Pink Zebra?
The cost to join Pink Zebra is $79 or $149 depending on the Starter Kit you purchased.
These starter kits contain everything for you to launch your Pink Zebra mlm business.
Besides the initial cost for the starter kit, you must be an active and qualified consultant to earn bonuses and commissions with Pink Zebra.
Pink Zebra requires consultants to generate at least $150 in sales each month to avoid being classified as Inactive.
To qualify for bonuses and team commissions, you are required to maintain a $400 in sales volume every month.
There is $11.95 each month to access and have your own replicated Pink Zebra website.
As you can see, the cost to join Pink Zebra is not $79. You must purchase products to maintain an active and qualified status to receive the commissions.
You should pay attention to the monthly Qualified Expenses.
Pink Zebra is a Pay and Play business opportunity. If you want to earn, you have to pay.
Any consultant that fails to maintain a qualified status is not allowed to receive the bonuses and commissions from Pink Zebra.
The expenses above do not include your time, the marketing costs, travel expenses, and gas.
The monthly qualified expenses can destroy your business profits if you cannot resell the products. They become business losses.
Other home-based businesses, such as Affiliate Marketing, you earn the commission on every sale, no need to be qualified.
Why Pink Zebra has active and qualified requirements?
To force you to buy products and to avoid being classified as a pyramid scheme under the FTC guideline. (Check our discussion on the FTC MLM Guideline for more information.)
Pink Zebra Compensation Plan
The Pink Zebra compensation plan states that consultants have 6 ways to earn, but it’s not easy to receive the money because of the qualification requirements.
I’ll provide a quick analysis of the Pink Zebra compensation plan. To see it in detail, just download a copy.
Pink Zebra mlm offers you two options to make money: selling products and/or building teams.
Make Money Selling Pink Zebra Products
You earn retail commissions by purchasing products to resell or by selling directly from the Pink Zebra replicated website.
As a Pink Zebra consultant, your base commission is 25% on all personal sales.
You earn an additional enhanced retail commission between 5% to 10% determined by your monthly personal sales volume starting with 5% on sales between $900 to $1,999, then 10% on sales of $2,000 and up.
So, you can potentially earn a 35% retail commission if you meet the personal sales volume requirement.
But the question is, can you sell Pink Zebra products on the market?
I did a quick search on eBay, the famous site for consultants to dump mlm products, and I found thousands of Pink Zebra Sprinkles selling for as low as $1.
The cheapest Pink Zebra Sprinkles is retail for $9.00 on the company website.
This tells us the only reason so many consultants dumping their Pink Zebra products on eBay because they cannot sell them at the suggested retail price.
Overpriced is the reason many Consultants have a hard time making money selling products.
Make Money Recruiting Others
The best option to make money with an mlm opportunity is recruiting others to join your team, not selling products
However, as a Pink Zebra consultant, you must be an active and qualified consultant to earn team commissions and bonuses.
Pink Zebra offers a 7% bonus every time you enrolled a new consultant. This commission is paid on all sales generated by your personal recruits.
But to receive this bonus, you must generate $400 orders each month with 2 active consultants, one on the right team and one on the left team, to qualify.
Team Level Bonuses
Pink Zebra offers a 3% team bonus up to 4 levels.
Again, to get paid the highest level of commissions, you must be active and qualified.
Pink Zebra will pay consultants a 2% mentoring bonus monthly.
However, you must achieve the Executive Manager rank or higher to start earning this bonus.
At the Executive Manager level, your team sales volume requirement is $30,000 per month for two consecutive months.
There are other leadership bonuses and incentives which require more purchasing of Pink Zebra overpriced products to qualify. You can refer to the compensation plan
for more information.
As you can see, there are multiple ways to earn with Pink Zebra. But to get paid, you must purchase products and more products.
This is how mlm works. Ways to earn is not the same as qualifying to receive the money.
You can potentially earn nothing with Pink Zebra because the costs to be active and qualified might exceed the commissions received.
Can You Make Money With Pink Zebra?
The Pink Zebra compensation plan is not the document to use in determining the consultants’ take-home income.
To know the consultants’ actual income, you need to look at the Pink Zebra income disclosure statement (IDS).
But, where can you get a copy of the IDS?
You can request one at the time of enrollment. The law requires Pink Zebra to provide you a copy together with the compensation plan.
As a business review writer, I look to the actual incomes to advise clients on an investment.
If Pink Zebra refuses to provide you a copy of the income disclosure statement, don’t join. This is a sign of a scam.
But you don’t need a copy of the IDS to know that 99% of mlm businesses failed.
Because Pink Zebra compensation plan is not designed for you to make money. It’s designed for Pink Zebra mlm to sell products.
Just go back and review the compensation plan discussion above, why you think consultants must be active and qualified to earn the commissions?
Is Pink Zebra A Scam?
Yes, Pink Zebra was not created for you to make money. However, this doesn’t make Pink Zebra a scam.
Pink Zebra is a business opportunity. Every business has risks.
You are responsible to carefully research, study, and investigate the Pink Zebra business opportunity before joining.
Reading this Pink Zebra Review is a good way to learn the risks and rewards associated with this home-based business opportunity.
Many entrepreneurs hire professional financial analysts to evaluate business profits and losses before investing.
As the owner of an Online Business Review, I have evaluated hundreds of mlm businesses to help investors identified and managed the risks.
As a business opportunity, Pink Zebra is not a scam. It is a high-risk investment and unprofitable business opportunity.
Is Pink Zebra A Pyramid Scheme?
Mlm companies are legit if they follow the FTC guideline.
Pink Zebra might be legit under the law, but I don’t invest based on the laws.
I look at the compensation plan and the consultants’ income to determine a pyramid scheme.
I say Pink Zebra is a pyramid scheme.
If you look at the Pink Zebra compensation plan, consultants are forced to purchase overpriced products to earn the commission.
Recruiting is the best option to make money, not selling products.
The more people you recruit, the more money you make.
Every consultant becomes a customer of Pink Zebra by force, purchasing products to qualify for bonuses and commissions.
Doesn’t this make Pink Zebra a pyramid scheme?
Well, you don’t have to agree with me.
But you can’t deny that Pink Zebra is not designed for you to achieve your dream of financial freedom.
It is not easy to make money as a Pink Zebra consultant because the compensation plan was designed to turn you into a customer, not a business owner.
Is Pink Zebra Worth It?
If you use a lot of candles and fragrances, then joining Pink Zebra might be worth it.
But if you are looking for a profitable home-based business opportunity, then Pink Zebra is not worth it.
However, the decision to join Pink Zebra is yours to make.
Let’s ask yourselves this?
Do you know why you want to start a business?
To make money, right?
And to make money, we invest in a PROFITABLE business!
There are much better and less risky home-based business opportunities compared to mlm opportunities.
I recommend you look at Affiliate Marketing.
As an affiliate marketer, there’s
- No need to purchase a starter kit,
- No Personal Volume (PV) requirement,
- No face-to-face sales,
- No recruiting, and
- The best part, you are working on the computer in your own home or anywhere you like.
Affiliate marketing is one of the most powerful methods to promote and build your mlm team. I recommend you read, The New MLM Affiliate Marketing to learn more.
One thing that Pink Zebra rarely discloses to consultants is “Business Control”.
As a Pink Zebra consultant, you must obey Pink Zebra rules and policies to stay in business.
You have no control over what products to sell or how to promote your business.
What happens if Pink Zebra goes out of business?
You are out of business!
You lose everything and nothing you can do about it. You have zero control.
You start a business to build long-term incomes.
You want to create a system that generates money far into the future. Isn’t this the #1 reason you want to build a successful business?
If you want to be an owner of a lucrative and profitable business that generates six-figure passive income, then…
You should read my #1 recommended online business opportunity.
Can you write?
If your answer is “YES”, then why not use this skill to start your own highly lucrative online writing business, TODAY!
Would I join if Pink Zebra mlm is not a pyramid scheme or a scam?
NO! I start a business to make money, not to make someone else rich.
When Pink Zebra refuses to release the income disclosure statement, this should be a strong reason not to start a business with this company.
Why do you invest with a company that’s not willing to tell you the truth?
I don’t think you are going to get rich joining Pink Zebra mlm.
There are much better home-based business opportunities compared to Pink Zebra.
But this is your call.
I hope this Pink Zebra review answers most or all your questions.
Until next time.
